Our website address is: https://alumni.ntc.edu.au. The website is managed by Nazarene Theological College and is intended for use by its Alumni students.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Members

The purpose of the website is for NTC to connect better with our Alumni members. To achieve this, we collect and store various personal and background details and information about past studies. This information is collected in accordance with SCD privacy policy to ensure that it is managed responsibly and kept secure, accurate and up-to-date. It is used on this website to facilitate communication between members and NTC, and between individual members. It is also used for statistical purposes to better understand the demographics of our Alumni members.

All NTC Alumni members have control over which information they choose to provide, and also to control which other members are able to see it.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with

NTC does not share any personal information with any other institution or organisation or individual. The only exception to this is the student information that needs to be sent to and held by the SCD for the purposes of student registration and accreditation.

How long we retain your data

We store the personal information that Alumni members provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Other Alumni members can see certain parts of a users personal information depending on the sharing settings that user has defined. Each user has control over which aspects of their personal information can be seen by other members.

This information is retained indefinitely except if you choose to request its removal.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Your contact information

We may use your contact information periodically to send out relevant information about NTC in the form of digital or print communication. You may choose to unsubscribe to electronic mailings at any time.

Additional information

How we protect your data

Your data is protected by a firewall which actively blocks requests matching known attack patterns and actively protects our site and database from hackers. We also ensure strong passwords are used for all accounts to further minimise the risk of a breach in data security.

What data breach procedures we have in place

If any security breaches are discovered, we will immediately act to resolve them and secure your data. We will also notify you of any potential risks regarding your personal information and comply with your requests to export or erase your data if required.
